Some Full-face mask have an additional port where a communication device can be connected for underwater communications between divers. Full-face mask with com can be very useful and may further enhance the safety margin for divers who are visually impaired, blind or have significant upper extremity impairments precluding effective hand signaling. For blind divers, having the support diver narrate what is observable can make the dive experience more meaningful and fun. Underwater communication can also be very useful in alleviating anxiety and stress for certain divers who have certain types of cognitive, emotional or psychological impairments.
